Virtual Snow!

I don't know about you, but I'm already tired of winter. Blech! That "Polar Vortex" earlier this week was brutal for sure!

While I think freshly fallen snow is beautiful, it still means it's cold outside. So, what's better than melted snow? How about some virtual snow?! At least you won't have to shovel this kind.

Below are a few sites that allow you create snowflakes or have fun with snow...online! These sites are also good for helping students practice maneuvering a mouse correctly.
Enjoy!

Free Online Christmas Fun!

When I taught Elementary Computers, I would always try to give the kids a break near a holiday. I would allow them to play Holiday Games via my Live Binder site! Of course, if a child didn't celebrate a certain holiday they were given other options. I also didn't limit them to Christmas games at Christmas, or Halloween games at Halloween, etc. They were allowed to play any Holiday or Season related game. The kids LOVED it!

In addition to the sites on my Live Binder, here are some other sites with some great games for Christmas!

Enjoy!

Interactive Math

It seems like there are more and more new and free Math games online and via apps. Math can be a hard concept for some kids, so why not making the learning more fun?!

I hope these sites are very useful! Enjoy!

Stop, Drop, and Roll: Fire Safety!

October wears a lot of hats: Halloween, Columbus Day, Anti Bullying Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, etc.

It is also Fire Safety Month!

This is a topic that is not just important within a school setting, but it is also important in the home. I am including many links below that will help children understand what to do in order to be safe during a fire.

Be sure to have an escape plan and help children understand it. BE SAFE!

There are so many fun games online for Halloween that are appropriate for kids and students of all ages. I am including links to many below! If you know of others, feel free to share those as well! Enjoy!

Preschool Fun Online!

It's important in today's technological world, to at least expose kids to online learning and fun before they enter kindergarten. This will allow them to not only learn how to use a computer but also expose them early to necessary reading and math skills.

My own kids love technology! I try to limit how much they use, however, I love that they enjoy learning!

Below are some great sites that are completely appropriate and easy for the little kiddos in our lives! If you have any more, feel free to share those as well! I'm also including some general resources for Preschoolers.
Enjoy!

Online Science Fun!

Kids love Science! While most kids prefer for it to be hands on, sometimes that's not always available.
There are many ways to still get Science knowledge and learning without the setup and cleanup of materials, etc.

Below are a few links to many fun online Science games for elementary and PreK children of all ages!

I hope they are useful and fun! Enjoy!

Hoppy Freebies!

Easter is this month. I personally do not like when Easter falls in March. Here in Missouri, we cannot guarantee warmer temperatures this time of year. Plus, it gives nothing to look forward to in April! Oh well.
Since Easter is approaching quickly, below are links to many Easter related freebies and online games. Enjoy!

Marching in with Leprechauns

I cannot believe it is almost March already! Where does the time go?
It's time to start thinking ahead about St. Patrick's Day. Many of us have Spring Breaks coming up, too, so it's important to plan ahead if we want to incorporate any St. Patrick's Day activities into the classroom.
Below I am including links to many free activities that I have found recently, regarding either March or St. Patrick's Day. I hope they are useful to many!

Be on the lookout soon, too, for a freebie or giveaway of some kind to celebrate my blog hitting 25,000 views!

Have a great day!

Lovely Valentine's Fun

Believe it or not, Valentine's Day is quickly approaching! It's such a sweet little holiday (yes, pun intended)!
It's always nice to tell those you love that you are thinking about them, appreciate them, and love having them in your life. While we can do this any day of the year, it's even more special on Valentine's Day.
Kids enjoy Valentine's Day because of the candy and cute cards. They can have fun making cute little hearts and sweet notes as well.
Below I am including links to many interactive Valentine's Day games, printables, or resources. I'm sure I will be sharing more before  February 14th as well.
Be sure to check out my Twitter and Facebook pages! I am always sharing resources of all kinds!
Enjoy!

Winter Wonderment

I sincerely apologize for the lack of recent posts. It's been a very busy beginning of 2013, both personally and professionally. I hope to get back on track with blogging very soon!

First, I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped me to celebrate my blog's 1st birthday! You are all amazing! I would also love to thank each and every one of you who reads this blog. We have now hit over 20,000 views! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Since we are pretty much in the heart of winter now, I thought it would be fun to post many online winter games and other winter related activities. These could be useful for children stuck at home on snow days or for students who may have to endure indoor recess. Enjoy and I hope these are helpful!

No Frozen Brains!

With winter breaks quickly approaching at most schools, it's important to keep kids sharp in their skills. We definitely do not want "Frozen Brains" upon returning to school in January.

Many teachers do send home great packets of worksheets and activities with their students, so that they can keep working on their skills during their 2-3 week long break.

However, some kids might also benefit from online games or activities to also help with those needed basic skills for school. Below are links to a few sites that will help students have fun and learn at the same time. All of these sites are FREE!

With that said, I decided to look up Polar Express units, printables, and resources on TpT. There are sooo many creative minds out there! All of the links below lead to FREE Polar Express activities via TpT.

Feel free to also check out my new Polar Express Unit as well. It is on sale for this week only!

Now that it's November, it's time to shift the focus to Thanksgiving.
I am hoping to be able to incorporate Thanksgiving activities in my computer lab sometime this  month.
