Virtual Snow!

I don't know about you, but I'm already tired of winter. Blech! That "Polar Vortex" earlier this week was brutal for sure!

While I think freshly fallen snow is beautiful, it still means it's cold outside. So, what's better than melted snow? How about some virtual snow?! At least you won't have to shovel this kind.

Below are a few sites that allow you create snowflakes or have fun with snow...online! These sites are also good for helping students practice maneuvering a mouse correctly.
Enjoy!

Resources for the New Year

While I know pretty much everyone is on a break right now, surely most teachers are thinking about planning for the New Year.

Whether you are in need of resources to use in your classroom or at home with your own kids, I am providing some links to printables, lessons, coloring sheets, and more to help celebrate the New Year!

Free Online Christmas Fun!

When I taught Elementary Computers, I would always try to give the kids a break near a holiday. I would allow them to play Holiday Games via my Live Binder site! Of course, if a child didn't celebrate a certain holiday they were given other options. I also didn't limit them to Christmas games at Christmas, or Halloween games at Halloween, etc. They were allowed to play any Holiday or Season related game. The kids LOVED it!

In addition to the sites on my Live Binder, here are some other sites with some great games for Christmas!

Enjoy!

Winter Wonderment

I sincerely apologize for the lack of recent posts. It's been a very busy beginning of 2013, both personally and professionally. I hope to get back on track with blogging very soon!

First, I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped me to celebrate my blog's 1st birthday! You are all amazing! I would also love to thank each and every one of you who reads this blog. We have now hit over 20,000 views! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Since we are pretty much in the heart of winter now, I thought it would be fun to post many online winter games and other winter related activities. These could be useful for children stuck at home on snow days or for students who may have to endure indoor recess. Enjoy and I hope these are helpful!

Online Christmas Fun!

My students LOVE when they get a "Holiday Game Day"! There are so many free games out there that are kid friendly. I even created a whole Live Binder of just Holidays & Seasons games. The kids really enjoy them!

Below are some Christmas and Winter games that are super fun and kid friendly! I hope you enjoy them.

No Frozen Brains!

With winter breaks quickly approaching at most schools, it's important to keep kids sharp in their skills. We definitely do not want "Frozen Brains" upon returning to school in January.

Many teachers do send home great packets of worksheets and activities with their students, so that they can keep working on their skills during their 2-3 week long break.

However, some kids might also benefit from online games or activities to also help with those needed basic skills for school. Below are links to a few sites that will help students have fun and learn at the same time. All of these sites are FREE!

Let It Snow...Online Anyway

While I know that some areas of the country have experienced plenty of snow this season, here in Missouri that has not been the case. While I personally find snow to be very pretty, I generally despise Winter.

However, for those who are itching for some Winter fun, here are some great Wintry Online Games to help you out!
