Winter Wonderment

I sincerely apologize for the lack of recent posts. It's been a very busy beginning of 2013, both personally and professionally. I hope to get back on track with blogging very soon!

First, I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped me to celebrate my blog's 1st birthday! You are all amazing! I would also love to thank each and every one of you who reads this blog. We have now hit over 20,000 views! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Since we are pretty much in the heart of winter now, I thought it would be fun to post many online winter games and other winter related activities. These could be useful for children stuck at home on snow days or for students who may have to endure indoor recess. Enjoy and I hope these are helpful!

Sweet, Sweet Candy Corn

I love Candy Corn! I always have. Yes, it's Very sweet, but it is an annual Fall tradition for me to have some of the yumminess that is candy corn.
With that in mind, I started to think of ways to "celebrate" candy corn. While I may not be personally able to use these resources in my own classroom (a.k.a. computer lab), I might be able to use some of the ideas with my own kids.
I hope these ideas will help some of you out as we are now on the "home stretch" to Halloween.
Thank you also to those of you who entered my recent giveaway. It is much appreciated! Thank you also for being patient between blog posts. Work has been keeping me pretty busy.
Enjoy and have a "Sweet" Day!

Happy Birthday, Johnny Appleseed!

Apples are such a great topic for Fall! It's only fitting that Johnny Appleseed himself happens to have a birthday during Fall.

Apples are loved by many and the story of Johnny Appleseed is one that most children enjoy. This tall tale was always one that I also enjoyed as a child.

I hope that you will share this tale and more with your students and children. Below, I am including many links to help teach about both apples and Johnny Appleseed.

I may not be able to teach much about this great topic in the computer lab, but I do plan to mention it to my own children at home.

Enjoy an apple today in honor of Johnny!

Fall into Fun & Games...and a Request

I don't know about everyone else, but I LOVE Fall!! I love the smells, crisp air, and sweatshirts! After a long, hot, dry Summer, I am excited for Fall weather.

Below are many fun & exciting, online games for students to play. All of them are about Fall (Autumn)!

I also have a small request. This blog is already almost to 10,000 views! Thank you so much! Your support means so much.

In celebration, I will be holding a GIANT giveaway once the blog hits 10,000 views. I have some things of my own that I plan to giveaway, but I'd like help in order to make the giveaway even bigger!

If you are willing to donate any educational items (they don't need to be Ed Tech; Elementary is preferred, but not required), then please, please let me know ASAP? I want this giveaway to be BIG! You may email me  at: jeniferphillips.226@gmail.com .  Thanks again for the support.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
